The Small Glories

The Small Glories have made it back to Canada after a great tour down south. TSG played the Moab Folk Music Festival in Moab, UT and shared the stage with the one and only Bruce Cockburn. What an honour it was to share the stage with such a legendary musician and Canadian. We then traveled west through a section of the american desert and the badlands of southern Utah, Arizona, Nevada and southern California. We hung out in the Arches National Park and Bryce Canyon where we saw many amazing wonders of mother nature. The north and south windows, Thors' Hammer and all at over 8000 meters. We then descended past the Moapa Valley made a quick coffee stop in Las Vegas before driving through the Mojave Desert. We saw many tumble weeds, high cliffs, and vast open barren landscapes. Los Angeles was exciting, fast moving and sometimes insane. The traffic is epic and the people are too. We played at the famous Coffee Gallery Backstage where Bob makes every artist feel like they are on the biggest and flashiest stage in the area. I loved how after every song the lights go black to signal the end of the tune. Such great showmanship! After marinating in the hot LA sun and smog we drifted north through Murin County where we played the Sweetwater Music Hall for a full and attentive audience. Then through Oakland & Berkeley and up through the great Redwood Forests where the trees grow as high as skyscrapers and drink in the mist off the cold Pacific Northwest Ocean. We made it Portland and then to a small village called Beaver where we stayed up late and jammed with the locals and finished a big bottle of Tennessee Whiskey. We continued through a strong early winter wind storm to play Seattle and a special show for the great people on Vashon Island. Our last date in the states was in Bellingham where we played for a sold out crowd full of old friends and new fans. It was an epic journey through some of the most beautiful parts of the USA and along with some of the friendliest and most generous people. We took a day to drive north even further over the Canadian border and through the Rocky Mountains with one stop in Jasper and then on to the Northern Lights Folk Club in the great city of Edmonton, Alberta. We had such a great time sharing songs from our self-titled Ep and from our up coming full length record. We met some fantastic folks and discovered some amazing venues. We are back home for a week before heading to Calgary, Alberta to play a show at the new Inglewood Folk Music Club. We hope all our friends from Calgary will come out and join us at the end of the week. 
TSG will be back down south next month to play for the good people of California as Cara becomes a Banjo Babe and JD joins in on the fun.
